The Passion of Pioneering Youth Ready to Build Malang City

Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – The Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji directly led the ceremony to commemorate the 94th Youth Pledge Day in the yard of Malang City Hall, Friday (28/10/2022). On this day, which is full of the history of the youth's struggle for independence, Mayor Sutiaji presented awards to nine people who were selected as Malang City Youth Pioneers.

"The role of youth in pioneering the development of a national vision with the 1928 Youth Pledge followed by a series of movements has led to the proclamation of Indonesian independence. The role of youth has been recorded in gold ink throughout time," said Sutiaji reading the speech of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Zainudin Amali.

Furthermore, the speech stated that today's youth are figures who will play a role in the future. The theme of the current Youth Pledge Day commemoration is "United to Build the Nation". This theme conveys a deep message that unity is a non-negotiable price that must be strengthened.

"What the youth do today will also determine the progress of the Indonesian nation in the future. The mandate of the youth today is to make the values ​​of unity above all else. Viewing diversity as a valuable gift to be woven into an extraordinary strength to achieve Indonesia's glory," he said.

So that the youth become the spearhead because they have innovation, creativity and enthusiasm that other generations do not have. For that, the important role of youth is needed as a pioneer of better national and state awareness including in Malang City. With the existence of Youth Pioneers in Malang City, it is expected to be a spur in youth development in various aspects. In addition, it can also encourage the role of youth in society as agents of change and social control of society.

Sutiaji appreciated and congratulated the nine young people from Malang City who had been selected, and hoped that this award would be a motivation and encouragement to continue to achieve.

Meanwhile, one of the winners, namely Champion 1 of the Pioneer Youth in the Field of Religion, Social and Culture, Tauqit Mukhlis Diansyah, invited all youth to work together to build the City of Malang and Indonesia with their work and achievements.

"The youth must think out of the box to answer challenges, for example during the Covid-19 pandemic. We will continue to strengthen innovations, including advancing various sectors such as the economic sector and others. Through collaboration and embracing all groups, including friends with disabilities. The hope is that all young men and women, especially in Malang City and even throughout Indonesia, will be able to make real advocacy in their future lives," said Tauqit. (eka/ram)
