Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government (Pemkot) through the National Unity and Politics Agency (Bakesbangpol) held a Socialization of the Dangers of Narcotics and Drugs/Dangerous Materials (Narkoba) in the educational environment of Malang City at the Pelangi Hotel, Tuesday (1/11/2022).
This socialization is an effort that continues to be carried out and strengthened by the Malang City Government in collaboration with related ranks to prevent, overcome, and eradicate drug abuse and distribution.
"The hope is that children will not be exposed to drugs by strengthening literacy and self-awareness. The response is mutual, we have a duty and responsibility for the younger generation. So that they can understand the characteristics and types of drugs, the BNN and the police are present in charge," explained Sutiaji.
Furthermore, Mayor Sutiaji explained that students are the future generation of the nation. Where children with a productive demographic age will later become part of Indonesia Emas 2045. This can be realized if the generation is free from the clutches of drugs.
"Drug abuse can ensnare anyone, regardless of age and education level. Therefore, drug trafficking among students must also be watched out for. Because this can destroy Indonesia, one of which is the nation's generation," he said.
According to him, strengthening the role and communication of the family is also an effective way to prevent and be aware of the circulation and abuse of drugs. He also advised students in Malang City to fill their time with positive activities, increase faith and piety and implement a healthy lifestyle.
Meanwhile, the Head of Bakesbangpol Malang City, Dra. Rinawati, MM said that in accordance with the mandate of the Regulation of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Permendagri) Number 12 of 2019, the role of the regional government is to facilitate efforts to prevent and eradicate the abuse and illicit trafficking of narcotics and narcotic precursors. So that various efforts are made such as forming Bersinar or Clean Drugs sub-districts where in 2022 there are 3 sub-districts, namely Dinoyo, Sukun, and Tlogomas sub-districts.
"The hope is that through this activity, the socialization participants who are the younger generation in this case high schools and vocational schools throughout Malang City, plus the vice principals in charge of student affairs, so that the information can be forwarded to their respective schools. Because at their ages they tend to be unstable, as explained, they probably still want to follow trends, prestige, to be sociable, so the dangers were conveyed earlier. So that they are introduced to the dangers, so don't get acquainted with drugs," explained Rina. (eka/ram)
