Signing of the deed of sale and purchase of land projected as an additional parking location in the Malang Mayor's Meeting Room, Tuesday (1/11/2022).
Mayor Sutiaji witnessed the signing between the Malang City Government represented by the Head of the Malang City Transportation Agency, Drs. R. Widjaja Saleh Putra and the land owner, Lisa.
After the procession, Sutiaji emphasized that the procurement of 792 square meters of land on Jl. Basuki Rahmat No. 50 is part of the design of the Kayutangan Heritage area which is currently in process.
"It will be used for parking and to lead to land that God willing we will arrange for parking," explained Sutiaji when met in the Malang Mayor's Meeting Room.
With the land acquisition, it is expected to facilitate parking for Kayutangan Heritage visitors whose enthusiasm is getting bigger from day to day. With the hope of providing visitor comfort, so that it will encourage tourism in it and become a strengthening energy to realize Malang City as a tourism city, as well as the identity of a heritage city.
Meanwhile, Head of Transportation Agency, Widjaja, explained that the construction progress will be carried out as soon as possible in 2023. "Parking (land development technicalities, ed.) will be based on the results of the detailed engineering design (DED) study, we have prepared the concept of the parking form," he explained.
He also explained that the land acquisition would be useful in reducing traffic congestion in the Kayutangan Heritage area because it reduces on-street parking. "The estimate is that it can accommodate around 500, if there are motorbikes, of course there will be more. We prioritize cars to enter there (parking lot in Basuki Rahmat, ed), for motorbikes we put them in the former DLH (Jl. Majapahit, ed). Later in Kayutangan there will be cars and motorbikes. Of course it will be very, very helpful in reducing congestion," he concluded. (ndu/ram)
