"Hopefully, the creative economy can support overall economic growth. It can significantly reduce the number of open unemployment. Later, the domino effect is that we can reduce the poverty rate. Plus, the hope is that this movement is massive, hopefully later this ratio can also reduce the disparity," he said.

On this occasion, Sutiaji also appreciated the involvement of fashion designers in Malang City. For example, he mentioned that in the previous Malang Fashion Week event, 276 designers participated in the event. According to him, this is proof that Malang City has quite a large potential in the fashion world.

"This means that Malang City has an extraordinary appeal related to the fashion world. Hopefully, it can become a barometer of national and international fashion in the future," he added.

In this fashion creation event, the works of local designers from Malang were displayed in a fashion show attended by 39 finalists consisting of 25 participants from various regional apparatuses, as well as banking and also Regionally-Owned Enterprises (BUMD) in Malang City, as well as 14 participants in the general category.

In addition to the fashion show, the participants' photographic work, which was previously done in the Kayutangan Heritage area, was also displayed.

Head of the Malang City Trade and Industry Office, Dr. Eko Sri Yuliadi, S.Sos., MM said that this event also serves as a means of promoting tourism in the Kayutangan Heritage area. In addition, this activity is also expected to be able to develop the photography, fashion, and craft industries in Malang City.

"In addition to promoting tourism in the Kayutangan Heritage area, this event also aims to promote other tourism icons in Malang City," he explained. (ayu/ram)
