Improving Human Resources for Sub-district Heads and Village Heads, Malang City Government Holds Public Service Training

Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government held a Public Service Training for Sub-district and Urban Village Apparatus within the Malang City Government, Monday (7/11/2022). This aims to improve human resources (HR) in providing the best service to the community.

Assistant for General Administration of the Malang City Regional Secretariat, Sri Winarni read the mayor's speech expressing gratitude that today they are still given the opportunity to be active in the public service training agenda for sub-district and village officials. This activity is expected to further improve the provision of the best service to the community.

"Building a government with good and clean governance is one of the main agendas of reform that is expected to be consistently implemented by the government," explained Winarni.

To realize this ideal, the Malang City Government continues to improve its human resources, including by holding this activity. This is an effort to create an increasingly better apparatus in providing services to the community in a professional, transparent, and efficient manner.

Public service can be understood as all activities carried out in order to fulfill the basic rights of every citizen and resident for goods, services or administrative services. Which are provided by service providers related to public interests.

"Public interest services are the responsibility of both central and regional governments," Winarni emphasized.

Based on Law Number 25 of 2009, concerning public services, it regulates the principles of good governance which are the effectiveness of the function of government itself. Public services organized by the government can strengthen democracy and human rights, reduce poverty, increase environmental protection, be wise in utilizing natural resources, and deepen trust in government.

One thing that is still a problem in the relationship between the people and the government in the regions is the field of public services. Especially in the quality of government apparatus services to the community.
Nowadays, society is also increasingly open in providing criticism of public services.

Therefore, the substance of administration plays a very important role in regulating and directing all activities of service organizations in achieving goals. Moreover, the poor public service in Indonesia in the past has become embedded in the wider community. The community always demands quality public services from government officials.

For that, the government as a service provider for the community is required to provide increasingly quality services. Especially in facing competition in the era of globalization. The quality and service of government officials will be increasingly challenged to be more optimal and able to answer the increasingly high demands of the community, both in terms of quality and quantity of services.
And speaking of sub-district and village apparatuses who are the spearheads of public service implementation. Because they are directly related to the community, they will be more required to provide maximum service. Therefore, efforts need to be made to improve the quality of human resources for government apparatuses both at the village and sub-district levels to increase awareness of rights and obligations, as well as a sense of belonging of the apparatus to the organization.
