Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – Malang Mayor, Drs. H. Sutiaji became the leader of the 2022 Heroes' Day commemoration ceremony at Malang City Hall, Thursday (10/11/2022). The theme of this year's Heroes' Day is My Hero, My Example.
Mayor Sutiaji invited all future generations to emulate the noble values inherited by the heroes.
"I think in macro terms, this theme is My Hero, My Example, so whatever the activities and principles of life, the struggles, we need to emulate," said Sutiaji.
According to him, the messages delivered by the fighters are a courage to voice their hearts to carry out the movement. The mayor reminded that there is no great person, therefore togetherness is needed. "Unity and togetherness are our commitments. We need collaboration, we need to accelerate," he said.
With the spirit and noble values of heroes to dedicate themselves to the nation and state, of course to religion, Sutiaji also invites us to fight global issues together.
"Hopefully in a complicated situation, the global issues of the world are our considerations. Food crisis, energy crisis, and economic crisis. We must fight this by eliminating ego. That what is in us also belongs to the people around us," he said.
In addition, Mayor Sutiaji also read the message from the Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini. In her message, the Minister of Social Affairs invited all people to fight to conquer existing threats and challenges.
"Our preparedness to face natural disasters including the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as the scarcity of resources must always be fought for together with sincerity. We have all the basic capital to become a winning nation. Let us move together and move forward together with the determination to win. Once independent, always independent," said Social Minister Tri Rismaharini in a message read by the Mayor of Malang.
At this event, a token of appreciation was also given to three heroic organizations, namely the Indonesian Veteran Legion (LVRI), the Daily Council of the Branch - Struggle Cultivation Agency - 45 (DHC-BPK-45), and the Branch Leadership Council - Association of Retired and Warakawuri TNI and Polri (DPC-PEPABRI), as well as the officers who read the hero's message.
In addition, the announcement of the results of the 2022 Shining Village Competition assessment was delivered. The first winner was won by RW 8, Lesanpuro Village, the second winner was won by RW 3, Sukun Village, and the third winner was RW 13, Pandanwangi Village. The Mayor of Malang also presented awards for the Main Category Climate Village Program from the Ministry of Environment, namely RW 7, Lesanpuro Village and RW 5, Arjowinangun Village. (ari/ram)
