Caring for Elderly Health, Health Office Initiates Examination

Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – In a series of commemorations of the 58th National Health Day, the Malang City Health Service (Dinkes) carried out social services and health check-up services for elderly residents (lansia) in several nursing homes in Malang City, Monday (14/11/2022).

Head of the Health Service (Dinkes) of Malang City, Dr. Husnul Muarif, revealed that the commemoration of National Health Day took the theme of Rising Indonesia, Healthy Country.

"The visit to the nursing home is to increase concern and attention to the elderly in the nursing home regarding their health through general health checks and providing compassion," said Dr. Husnul.

The Health Office in collaboration with regional health centers carried out health checks for the elderly at the KNDJH nursing homes, Titus Brandsma, Al Ishlah elderly boarding school, and Bakti Luhur. The checks carried out included checking blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, uric acid, and providing vitamins for the elderly.

"In addition to providing health services, this activity also aims to provide motivation for a better and healthier life because they are included in the vulnerable or risk group," added Dr. Husnul.

Through this examination service for the elderly, it is hoped that the health status of the elderly can be improved so that they remain healthy, independent and useful. Because health is the most valuable thing.

In the activity, 113 elderly people received health check-up services. In addition to health check-ups, assistance was also provided in the form of personal needs for the elderly such as blankets, stainless steel mugs, cutlery and others.

"In the series of commemoration of National Health Day, in addition to health services for the elderly, visits to orphanages and seminars/webinars, the Malang City Health Office also carries out social activities such as blood donation. Hopefully this will benefit us all," he concluded. (eka/ram)
