Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government held an unusual activity to improve the capabilities of state civil servants (ASN), namely the Quiz Competition for sub-district heads and village heads. This activity is titled "Who Dare to Become a Dignified Civil Servant?"
This activity, which was initiated by the Government Section of the Malang City Regional Secretariat, collaborated with the LPPM of Malang State University.
Not without reason, this quiz is intended to increase the knowledge and understanding of sub-district heads and village heads regarding regulations and knowledge about government policies.
Head of the Government Section of the Regional Secretariat of Malang City, Drs. Fahmi Fauzan AZ, M.Si also revealed that this quiz is expected to be a motivation and stimulus for regional government officials, namely sub-district heads and village heads and all their staff to continue to improve their achievements in order to become competent, efficient, and dignified ASN.
"To strengthen and solidify the integrity of ASN as competent public servants," said Fahmi, Tuesday (15/11/2022).
Deputy Mayor of Malang, Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko in his speech said that the theme raised is in accordance with today's needs. "All problems in society, the government must be present in the midst of it. Not only the function of regulator, facilitator, or executor, but the main thing is problem solving for community problems," said Bung Edi, Sofyan Edi Jarwoko's nickname.
Bung Edi also invited all ASN to improve togetherness, mutual cooperation in order to solve community problems. According to him, this quiz competition activity is a real need for government officials to refresh knowledge, information, and science that must be possessed by sub-district heads and village heads.
"What is important is that there are ideas that we can apply in our society to solve various existing problems. Being smart is important, being careful is important, but skill in solving problems is also an important part," he concluded.
In the event held at Gedung Sasana Budaya, Universitas Negeri Malang, there were five teams competing to represent each sub-district, whose members consisted of a sub-district head and two village heads. After going through three rounds of the competition, finally Klojen Sub-district took first place with the highest score, followed by Sukun Sub-district in second place, and Blimbing Sub-district in third place.
Meanwhile, the Rector of Malang State University, Prof. Dr. Hariyono, M.Pd said that Malang State University wants to contribute to the development of Malang City. "We hope that the knowledge possessed by Malang State University residents can be utilized in Malang City, Malang Raya and Indonesia," he said.
Hariyono also hopes that this quiz activity can be done regularly. "If this quiz is made a tradition, we are very happy. Because I am sure someone becomes a sub-district head or village head if he is not smart and careful," he continued. (ari/ram)
