Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government through the Regional Planning and Development Agency (Bappeda) held a dialogue on Malang City Development Towards an Elderly-Friendly City at the Savana Hotel, Monday (21/11/2022). This is a form of attention from the Malang City Government in ensuring that elderly residents in Malang City can live happily and have all their needs met.

Malang Mayor, Drs. H. Sutiaji revealed that Malang City Government continues to strive to provide the best service to all its citizens, including the elderly. Therefore, in order for future development to be even better, planning must be carried out properly involving the elderly so that what is built is in accordance with needs.
"It's not just the infrastructure needs that must be met to support the elderly's activities. But also the superstructure needs," explained Sutiaji.
The need for superstructure here includes institutions, mayoral regulations and regional regulations that provide assurance to the elderly that they must be properly taken care of. In the future, the elderly in Malang City can remain productive and their welfare is well guaranteed.
Although the Malang City Government does not have a nursing home, it turns out that the private sector's concern in building nursing homes is also high. This collaboration is very helpful in handling the elderly in Malang City to be better in living an age that is no longer young.
Malang City also continues to build and prepare various facilities that are friendly to the elderly from outside the city. This is a good supporter to realize Malang City that is friendly to the elderly.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Malang City Elderly Committee and Deputy Mayor of Malang, Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko said that the Malang City Government continues to make various efforts to realize Malang City as an elderly-friendly city. Malang City continues to meet various indicators needed to realize an Elderly-Friendly City.
"Among them is the existence of the Malang Mayor Regulation Number 13 of 2015 concerning Elderly Welfare, as a commitment of the Malang City Government in fulfilling the rights of the elderly," he said. (cah/ram)
