Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – In order to realize a pollution-free Malang City, the Malang City Environmental Service (DLH) conducted emission tests for four-wheeled vehicles in the Simpang Balapan area, Malang City, Tuesday (22/11/2022).

Head of Malang City DLH, Noer Rahman Wijaya revealed, this emission test was carried out as a series of urban air quality evaluations (EKUP). The activity was carried out for three days with the first point on Jalan Ijen or Simpang Balapan, the second on Jalan Trunojoyo, and the third day on Jalan Mayjen Sungkono.
"EKUP is one form of initiation from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry which has the title of blue sky," explained Rahman.
This activity is one of the indexes to evaluate air quality in urban areas to find out the real quality. To find out the air quality and vehicle emission index for both premium and diesel fuel.
In carrying out this activity, DLH cooperates with the Transportation Agency (Dishub), the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), and the Malang City Police. In the future, the results of this emission test will be announced soon for further evaluation.
"In this activity, DLH also synergizes with one of the state campuses in Malang City, official dealers, Satpol PP, and the police so that the implementation of the exam can be maximized," said Rahman.
The target of this vehicle emission test is expected to reach 800 vehicles. So that for three days it is expected to reach around 2.000 vehicles. The results of the emission test are also delivered directly to the person concerned, for those who pass will be given a sticker and those who do not pass will be directed to the workshop.
"For the results we provide in the form of print outs. Those who do not pass are only given print outs and not stickers. The results of this vehicle emission test in real time we provide to the Ministry of Environment and Forestry," said Rahman.
Emission testing is one of the testing efforts so that the public can find out the performance of the engine and also the level of efficiency of combustion of motor vehicle engines. Emission testing has a positive impact on several aspects, one of which is the environment. Through this process, the level of exhaust from engine combustion will be known which will affect the environment. (cah/ram)
