Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – Approaching the implementation of the 2024 simultaneous general election, various anticipations by the Malang City Government. This time through the National Unity and Politics Agency (Bakesbangpol) gathered various elements of society. Such as religious leaders, communities, youth and non-governmental organizations. Labeled socialization of anticipation of potential conflicts in the presidential and regional elections, they were gathered at the Tychi Hotel on Wednesday, November 23, 2022.

The Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji after opening the event said that currently the public is required to be smarter in various things. For example, when receiving information, it should not be swallowed raw, because the information has the potential to be fake news or hoaxes and from this it can trigger horizontal conflict and divide unity.
Sutiaji also advised that there should be political maturity, do not get carried away by the flow of identity politics and excessive fanaticism. No less important, there must be strengthening of national values, conflict mitigation and not being easily provoked. "From all that, the five-yearly democratic party will not be tarnished by the actions of a handful of people and/or certain groups," he added.
"Approaching 2023-2024, the political machine has begun to warm up, so we must mature to maintain the stability and conduciveness of Malang City. National values that we must strengthen and not be tarnished by the five-year agenda because of different choices. This is a democratic process, with democracy later how will the Indonesian people prosper," he explained.
Bakesbangpol as one of the political gatekeepers, said Sutiaji, will collaborate with the welfare section of the Malang City Government. In this case, figures from six religions and one belief system will be invited to strengthen and understand politics. They will later continue and provide appeals to each of their followers. "In this context, because fatatism or the guise of religion has great potential to trigger conflict in a democratic party," he said. (say/ram)
