Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – The Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji was present at the Malang City Police Headquarters during the event to destroy narcotics evidence, Thursday (24/11/2022).
Mayor Sutiaji said that drug abuse in Malang City must be suppressed as much as possible. Because it can have fatal consequences for the next generation. According to him, drug abuse was initially done by many people just for fun to try. But in the end, it cannot be separated from the influence of the environment.
"Therefore, the environment also plays a role in making people fall into that dark world," said Sutiaji.
According to him, rather than falling into that dark world, it is better to work, like other young people in Malang City. Because the Malang City Government has built a facility in the form of the Malang Creative Center (MCC) building which is very suitable for honing various skills.
Meanwhile, Malang City Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, S.IK revealed that the destruction of evidence of various types of narcotics was carried out together to be more transparent. So that there are no allegations of misuse.
"The narcotics destroyed today are the result of confiscations in August-November 2022," explained Buher, Budi Hermanto's nickname.
During August-November 2022, there were seven cases of drug abuse handled with seven suspects, six men and one woman. The average age is 21-35 years old with their respective jobs in the private sector and self-employed, their respective roles as couriers and dealers.
"Evidence of crystal methamphetamine 1082,17 grams, marijuana 3,927 kg, double L pills 141.950 pills. By destroying this amount of narcotics, it means we have saved around 32.154 lives," said Buher.
Malang City Police, he said, must really care, be aware, and be firm in preventing the use and distribution of drug abuse. Various types of narcotics destroyed on this occasion were obtained from arrests in the Malang Raya area.
The destruction of narcotics in Malang City has been carried out in different places, not only at the Malang City Police, but also at the Malang City National Narcotics Agency (BNN) Office. Regarding the place of destruction of drug evidence, it can be flexible, most importantly witnessed by the District Attorney's Office, District Court, investigators, and Forkopimda. (cah/ram)
