Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – Head of BPS Malang City, Erny Fatma Setyoharini, said that Malang City experienced inflation of 0,12 percent in November 2022. This was conveyed through the Official Statistics News (BRS) of Malang City, Thursday (1/12/2022).

"For month-to-month (mtm) inflation, namely November compared to October 2022, which is 0,12 percent. So for this time our inflation is still lower than eight cities in East Java, we are among the lowest," said Erny
Erny said that inflation in November did increase compared to October. The bespectacled woman explained that towards the end of the year there would usually be an increase in the prices of several commodities. The inflation in Malang City was mainly caused by an increase in prices in the food, beverage and tobacco groups.
Several volatile commodities in Malang City that experienced price increases in November include shallots (10,88 percent), tempeh (8,12 percent), chicken eggs (7,19 percent), chicken meat (3,61 percent), raw tofu (2,45 percent), beef (0,26 percent), rice (0,09 percent), cooking oil (0,06 percent), and granulated sugar (0,23 percent).
Meanwhile, several commodities that experienced price decreases were cayenne pepper (-29,54 percent), red chili (-20,31 percent), and garlic (-2,67 percent).
"The main contributor to inflation in November this time in first place is tempeh with an inflation contribution of 0,0412 percent. So the increase is quite significant because of the increase in the price of soybeans, as the raw material. Maybe consumers do not feel there is an increase, but in terms of size it is reduced by traders from the price of Rp13.260 to Rp14.330 per kilogram," said Erni.
Furthermore, Erni said chicken meat, chicken eggs, shallots, clove cigarettes, and tomatoes also have a high share of inflation. (ari/ram)
