Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Transportation Agency (Dishub) collaborated with the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), TNI and Polri to hold a joint operation to control parking at several points in Malang City, Tuesday (6/12/2022). This joint operation is in order to improve services and comfort for the community.
Head of the Malang City Transportation Agency, Drs. R. Widjaja Saleh Putra said that this joint operation prioritizes a continuous persuasive approach and if necessary, action against violations.
"Previous joint operations have been carried out twice a week, the current activity is the third activity. The operation was carried out by combing several locations such as around Jalan Trunojoyo, Jalan Terusan Kawi, and around Pasar Besar," he explained.
Furthermore, Widjaja explained that the activities carried out around Jalan Trunojoyo included blocking drivers who stopped and parked their vehicles above the markings and below the prohibition signs. So that the joint operation team gave an appeal to park vehicles in the locations that had been provided.
"For those around Jalan Kawi, we reprimand parking attendants who do not have KTA. Also parking attendants who park their vehicles not in their parking locations. We will take strict action together with a team from the Malang City Satpol PP," he continued.
Meanwhile, in the Pasar Besar area, the operations team reminded parking attendants not to park their vehicles more than two rows apart. The team also took strict action against vehicle owners who parked their vehicles on the sidewalk. This was done so that the sidewalk could be used properly and traffic flow would also be smooth.
"In the future, this kind of activity will be carried out routinely twice a week. Hopefully, parking attendants and parking users will obey the provisions," he concluded. (ari/ram)
