Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Cooperatives, Industry and Trade Service (Diskopindag) held a Smart Trader Market School, aka Sepasar Pedas, a Socialization Activity for Traders at Kasin Market, Malang City, Tuesday (6/12/2022).
Head of Trade Division, Diskopindag Malang City, Burhanuddin Al Jundi said that the existence of traditional markets is very important. Because it is the mainstay of traders to meet their life needs. Therefore, in order for traditional market traders to be able to compete in this modern era, good education is needed.
"This activity is an effort to educate traditional market traders in Kasin Market to be more innovative," said Jundi.
Sepasar Pedas is a program of the Malang City Government that has become an icon of Malang City at the national level. This activity is a continuation of the government's efforts to revitalize traditional markets so that they can compete with modern markets. "This program has been included in the Top 45 Public Service Innovations in 2020 from the Ministry of PAN-RB," he continued.
The implementation of this program is to educate traders to understand and comprehend the business world in the digital era. According to him, traders must be smart and should not be like the past. "The point is, to educate traders in conditions like today, so that they can continue to exist and their businesses can grow," said Jundi.
Jundi said, through this activity it is hoped that they will not only wait for the government. But how traders can have innovation so they can compete. (cah/ram)
