Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – In order to enliven the commemoration of Mother's Day which is celebrated every December 22, the Malang City PKK Team held various competitions aimed at mothers in Malang City. The series of Mother's Day festivities were held for three days, namely December 5-7, 2022.
One of the competition activities carried out was a fashion show competition using the Pakem kebaya which was held today, Tuesday (6/12/2022) at the Kartini Building. This competition was attended by 57 TP PKK Kelurahan Chairmen throughout Malang City. The aim is to preserve the ancestral cultural heritage that is full of philosophy.
Head of the Malang City PKK Team, Hj. Widayati Sutiaji, S.Sos, MM said that this activity is a gathering and also an award event for all women for their contributions to the nation and state. Because women are the pillars of the state that are the milestones of the nation's progress.
"Actually, the power lies in women. As the Prophet Muhammad has said, women are the pillars of the state. Today we prove that we are all the pillars of the state," he said.
Widayati also added, this activity is also an extraordinary momentum, which can make all women become advanced, independent, creative, and innovative women. It is also hoped that this activity can be an important moment that can encourage all stakeholders to recognize the importance of women's existence in all aspects of development.
"Through this commemoration, it is believed that women are able to improve their quality of life, as well as develop all competencies and abilities as a driving force and also an agent of change," he added.
Based on the jury's assessment, three winners emerged in this competition. The Head of TP PKK Kota Lama Urban Village won third place, the Head of TP PKK Ketawanggede Urban Village won second place, and the first place was won by the Head of TP PKK Sumbersari Urban Village. (ayu/ram)
