The manifesto containing seven core formulations was symbolically received by the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji who was present in person with the Chairperson of the Malang City Dekranasda, Widayati Sutiaji and the ranks of the leaders of the relevant regional apparatus.
"From a small discussion in a coffee shop, about six or seven years ago. Through the waves of dynamic thoughts that developed. Today, tonight, the Mbois Festival can be held at MCC. For that we express our thousands of thanks for the contribution of all parties who made this dream come true," said Sutiaji.
The seven manifestos of Malang Creative City include a commitment to promote a circular creative economy, creative diplomacy, digital transformation and 10 principles of a creative city. Next are hexahelix synergy, communal branding and advocacy for strengthening regional creative economy regulations.
According to Sutiaji, it is very encouraging and is a testimony of the creative economy appeal of Malang City. On the other hand, the event that can be said to be a 'sound check' event or a test of MCC's readiness to hold this big event also provides positive input for improvements in a number of things to improve the quality of organizing future events.
Furthermore, Sutiaji invited all parties to continue to maintain and foster a culture of appreciating the work and achievements of the nation's children.
"Currently we are facing moral decadence, it is difficult to appreciate others. But this (MCC) is a real work of young people if given the opportunity and trust, God willing, it can be done. We continue to build a culture of appreciating the works of the nation's children," said Sutiaji.
Meanwhile, Dadik Wahyu Chang, a member of the Malang City Creative Economy Committee (KEK), hopes that the formulated manifesto can be a compass for the development of the creative economy in the future.
"This manifesto is a general guideline. God willing, it covers everything needed to make the creative economy here truly strong. The details will be formulated in the roadmap that is being discussed with the Malang City Government," explained Dadik.
