Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Regional Election Commission (KPUD) noted a shift in seat allocation in the 2024 Malang City DPRD member general election (Pemilu). First, Klojen District in the Malang 1 electoral district (Dapil), which in 2019 received a quota of 6 seats, changed to 2024 seats in the 5 election.
Shifts also occurred in Malang electoral district 3, namely Kedungkandang District. In 2019, it received a quota of 10 seats, but in 2024, it will increase to 11 seats. For electoral district 2 (Blimbing District), electoral district 4 (Sukun District), 5 (Lowokwaru District), there are no changes.
These are some of the things conveyed by the Chairperson of the Malang City KPUD, Aminah Asminingtyas, during the public test of the draft arrangement of the District/City DPRD Member Electoral Districts in the 2024 Election at the Aliante Hotel, Malang City, Monday (12/12/2022).
"The arrangement and shifting of the seat allocation has been based on the Population Aggregate List (DAK) per sub-district in Malang City. From 2019, based on the number of seats as well. The calculation is exactly the same as the calculation in 2019, based on the population of each sub-district," he explained.
Aminah added, from the total DAK of Malang City of 867.042 obtained from data from the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri), the allocation of special seats is 45 seats. "This is in accordance with Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning Elections, where for a population of between 500 thousand and 1 million people, Malang City has met the requirements of 45 electoral district seats," she added.
Meanwhile, Head of Government Section, Drs. Fahmi Fauzan AZ, M.Si said that his party will follow the applicable rules related to the election. According to him, if anyone has objections, especially from members of political parties participating in the election, they can convey it to the Malang City KPUD.
"If there is a report at the Malang City KPUD, of course it will be followed up properly. As is the case with being forwarded to the East Java Provincial KPUD and the Indonesian KPU. Based on the results of our coordination with the Malang City KPUD, until now there have been no complaints.
