Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – The leadership of the Malang City PSSI association has officially changed. Waris Susanto has been entrusted to become the General Chairperson for the 2022-2026 period and was inaugurated on Wednesday (14/12/2022) at the Malang City DPRD building.

In relation to this, the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji when attending the event hoped that Waris could carry out his mandate and carry out his duties as well as possible. In addition, the bespectacled man also hoped that Malang City would produce competitive professional soccer players.
"No less important, PSSI Malang City must also be an incubator in producing young footballers with character. Cooperation with schools through the Department of Education and Culture must be intensified. So far, many students have achieved success in football, so maximize that," added Sutiaji.
He further said, it is possible to recruit young soccer players through all schools. So that students who are interested in soccer are well accommodated. "If this is done seriously, the results will be maximized. The Youth, Sports and Tourism Agency (Disporapar) must also be involved," he said.
For achievement sports, explained the number one person in the Malang City Government, it is in KONI and recreational sports are the domain of Disporapar. "KONI has a big role to facilitate. However, if there is assistance in the form of a grant, it is through Disporapar. So collaboration is needed between these parties," he said.
"All work programs of PSSI Malang City must be transparent, structured and measurable, including the professional team of Persema Malang. So that what is a shared ideal, namely a joyful achievement, will be realized well. All parties involved must work hard in a solid team," said Sutiaji.
The statement was agreed by Waris as the General Chairperson of PSSI Malang City. He said that he would emphasize the transparency of the budget management that would be managed later. "The budget has certainly been prepared in 2022. Later, no one will mess around in my leadership. Finances and others will be open and transparent," he said.
Waris further admitted that his closest program after gathering the management team is coaching young soccer athletes in preparation for the Porprov event. Coaching athletes under the age of 21 will be his focus. "In addition, local competitions will also be held to filter new talents," he explained.
"Then I have a dream and a plan, the Persema team must be maximized again. Because so far it has been somewhat neglected. This is also in accordance with what Mayor Sutiaji ordered. I am from Malang so I want Persema to return to its glory like before," concluded Waris. (say/ram)
