"As we know, Malang City is one of the tourist destinations. This is one of the causes of density or congestion at certain points. Therefore, the Malang City Government and Malang City Police will anticipate by adding supporting facilities, traffic engineering, and parking arrangements. This is an effort to provide comfort for visitors or tourists," said Widjaja.
Widjaja said that the Malang City Transportation Agency made early preparations to anticipate the surge in human and vehicle movement. This preparation, he said, was emphasized on maintaining the safety and smoothness of traffic and transportation. The potential surge in tourist visits is accompanied by potential problems that often occur in the rainy season, such as floods, landslides, and fallen trees.
The first resource person from the Head of the Malang City Traffic Unit, Ipda Eko Prasetyo, said that preparations for Christmas and New Year security by holding a candle operation will start from December 23, 2022 to January 2, 2023.
