Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji at the RPD Preparation Coordination Meeting at the Mercure Hotel Malang, Monday (19/12/2022).

The preparation of the RPD is a mandate of the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs (Inmendagri) Number 52 of 2022 which must be implemented by all regions whose regional head's term of office ends in 2023, including in Malang City. Continuity and resolution of strategic issues are the emphasis of the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji to all his staff in preparing the RPD which will be used as a reference for the Strategic Plan (Renstra) of regional apparatus and annual work plans until the election of the mayor from the 2024 Simultaneous Election.

"This RPD, in the long-term dimension, is a translation of the 2005-2025 RPJP phase 4. I ask that it be understood properly, prepared well, communicated to the public and meet the process deadline," said Sutiaji.

Sutiaji further explained that in the 2024-2026 RPD there are four main objectives that will cover the development steps of Malang City.

The first goal is to increase quality competitiveness accompanied by the second goal, namely strengthening infrastructure supported by reliable management. The third is to encourage development towards global quality with local wisdom. While the fourth goal is to realize Malang City as a city of quality education, cultured and environmentally aware.

In order to achieve these four goals, Sutiaji asked all his staff to be responsive to issues at the global, national and specific levels in Malang City.

"Starting from the impact of war in Europe, the global financial and food crisis, to local issues such as regional fiscal independence, unemployment, poverty, traffic jams and disasters, we map them all," he added.

Also present at the RPD Coordination Meeting were the Deputy Mayor of Malang, Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko, a team of experts from academics from various disciplines, heads of regional apparatus, sub-district heads, village heads and planning officers in each work unit within the Malang City Government.
