Mayor Sutiaji Receives 2022 Mental Revolution Award

Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – Malang City is one of two districts/cities in Java-Bali, and the only area in East Java to receive the Mental Revolution Award from the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture (Kemenko PMK) of the Republic of Indonesia.

The Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji received the award directly at the Borobudur Hotel, Jakarta, Wednesday (21/12/2022). The trophy was presented by the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, KH. Ma'ruf Amin accompanied by the Coordinating Minister for PMK, Muhadjir Effendy.

Muhadjir Effendy said, the spirit of mental revolution has been echoed by the first President of the Republic of Indonesia, namely Ir. Soekarno. It is a manifestation of the Tri Sakti movement (politically sovereign, independent in the economy, and personality in culture).

"This spirit was realized by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo through the National Mental Revolution Movement (GNRM)," said the former Chancellor of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang.

The mental revolution, he said, was realized in five movements which included the Serving Indonesia Movement, the Clean Indonesia Movement, the Orderly Indonesia Movement, the Independent Indonesia Movement, and the United Indonesia Movement.

Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, KH. Ma'ruf Amin said, the importance of strengthening the values ​​of integrity, work ethic, and mutual cooperation. Through a mental revolution, he said, there must be a change in perspective, way of thinking, way of working, and acting as an effort to increase the competitiveness of the Indonesian nation.

"In the digital era, to utilize social media channels as a means of instilling the values ​​of wisdom and nobility of the Indonesian nation," he said.

Meanwhile, the Mayor of Malang, Sutiaji expressed his gratitude for receiving the award from the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture. He also expressed his gratitude to all parties in Malang City for their good cooperation and collaboration so far.

"The pentahelix pillar that is now hexahelix has become one of the strengths of Malang City. This is in line with what was emphasized by the Coordinating Minister for PMK, that GNRM has collaborated with the five pentahelix actors," said Sutiaji.

Malang City, he said, has been doing this since the beginning, and strengthening moral character and values ​​has also become the focus of the Malang City Government. "The Malang City Government continues to be committed to supporting GNRM's real actions through adaptive, dynamic bureaucratic reforms that have a direct impact on the community," he concluded.
