Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – Led by the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, the Malang City Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) on Thursday (22/12/2022) ensured the availability and prices of a number of community needs. The inspection in order to welcome the 2022 Christmas and 2023 New Year celebrations, the team visited the Perum Bulog warehouse, Kasin Market, and Pertamina Depot.

Mayor Sutiaji said that when the team checked the availability of Fuel Oil (BBM) and LPG, the results were very good. "Since a few days ago, Pertamina has increased the stock of various types of BBM by 10 percent from normal consumption. Meanwhile, LPG was increased by 6 percent to meet the needs of the community until early January 2023," he explained.
Next, TPID ensures the availability of rice, cooking oil and granulated sugar in the Perum Bulog warehouse. Based on the statement of the Head of Perum Bulog, Sutiaji said that the stock is sufficient to meet the needs of the community for the next 6 months.
Likewise at Kasin Market, according to the number one person in Malang City Government, the price of necessities did not experience a significant price spike. "Of several commodities, only cayenne pepper, eggs and chicken meat experienced a price increase of around Rp1.000 per kilogram," he explained.
"Don't panic buy. If there is panic and there is a hoarding action, then there will be a shortage and a price spike. If that happens, it means there is a problem, such as there is a price game in the market and or there are distributors who are playing," said Sutiaji.
From this relatively stable condition, Mayor Sutiaji appealed to the public and various parties not to carry out hoarding and stockpiling so as not to trigger price increases. "If there is a price increase, then market operations will be immediately launched," he concluded. (say/ram)
