Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – Save assets, the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji moved quickly to save empty land (Malang City Government assets) to be used for green open space (RTH).
As was held today, Friday, Mayor Sutiaji invited thousands of residents who are members of the environmental care community to jointly plant greening trees on the former Kalisari TPA land, Friday (23/12/22).
The long-abandoned land was planted with hundreds of seedlings of various types of trees. In addition to reusing the long-unused land, this tree planting was carried out to restore the function of green open space in Malang City.
"We want our assets to not be used by others. Other people sometimes have reasons, while no one is using it, it's better for us to use it ourselves. Therefore, optimization must be carried out immediately. The origin is green open space, so we return it to green open space," explained Sutiaji who led the tree planting.
As is known, the land area of about 500 square meters was originally a land for TPA. Then it was turned into a relocation site for Blimbing Market traders. But then the relocation also moved to the former Blimbing Stadium. So the land at the former Kalisari TPA was not used for a long time.
"In accordance with the location, we will continue to develop it. There is approximately a target of 1.000 trees, currently planted 500-700 trees," said Sutiaji.
Sutiaji also appreciated the greening efforts initiated by environmental cadres. This activity is also supported by various communities and environmental activists.
"This is the greatness of Malang, (the motto) Salam Satu Jiwa is what we strengthen. So this is an extraordinary collaboration in my opinion. We only support what we can give, but the community is extraordinary. We will continue to do it, (other land) that is still empty we will also maximize," he said.
Similarly, the Environmental Cadre Mentor, Wasto also felt grateful because there were so many communities and environmental activists who attended and 'tumplek blek' to make the activity a success. He hopes that this activity can be useful for now and in the future.
"Our sincerity is present this time in order to establish oxygen factories in the Malang City area. With our participation it becomes a monumental thing for the future. The implementation of today's activities is due to the support of various parties," he concluded. (cah/ram)
