Next Year, Education and Culture Office Will Develop Jarik Ma'Siti Program

Malang, (malangkota.go.id) – Head of the Malang City Education and Culture Office, Suwarjana, SE., MM said that his party will develop the Jarik Ma'Siti program to be replicated in schools in Malang City. Jarik Ma'Siti is an acronym for Learning Interestingly with Special Students.

The Jarik Ma'Siti learning method is an acronym for Learning Interestingly with Special Students.

Adaptive and collaborative learning methods for special students in regular/non-inclusive schools were initiated by SMP Negeri 10 Malang City. In fact, through Jarik Ma'Siti, special children in the school can show their existence as capable and independent individuals. This program is also expected to be a solution to the need for inclusive education. According to him, they are often faced with the limited understanding and awareness of parents, the need for special guidance teachers (GPK), and teaching and learning methods for special students in regular schools.

Because of its usefulness, he said, Disdikbud will develop this program in all schools in Malang City. This is a real manifestation of Malang City's efforts in guaranteeing the rights of every citizen to obtain education.

"We have evaluated. We think the program is very good. We do not differentiate between children with special needs and other normal children. Children with special needs, whom we call special children who have been marginalized, can now study in formal schools with the same services, without having to be separated from normal children. Same recognition. Same learning. The teachers must be patient," he said after the Inauguration of the Head of the State School at the Mini Blok Office, Wednesday (28/12/2022).

Furthermore, regarding the assessment, Suwarjana said that there will be a separate assessment system. "Now the assessment is all on the new education report card. Moreover, with Merdeka Belajar, it really helps special children to be able to join other friends," he continued.

Suwarjana said that what needs to be improved is public awareness and support for this program. "We hope that the public will not worry if their children study with special children. Don't worry, because their learning will not be disturbed and the service will not be disturbed," he said.

The man who once served as Head of General Affairs of the Malang City Regional Secretariat said that his party has also prepared educational staff. "The nature is training and socialization. Actually, the teachers already have that provision. It's just a matter of strengthening and making them aware that they have to work extra. Likewise, the infrastructure, God willing, is ready," he concluded. (ari/ram)
