Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The increasingly better waste management at the Supit Urang TPA in Malang City is expected to contribute to the Regional Original Income (PAD) through the compost fertilizer products produced in 2024. The quality of the Supit Urang TPA compost fertilizer is beyond doubt, because from the results of the laboratory examination, the Supit Urang TPA compost can be relied on for various types of plants.

Head of the Malang City Environmental Service (DLH) Noer Rahman Wijaya, ST, MM said that the Supit Urang TPA was able to produce 30 tons per month. "The results of our waste management have been included in the management of levies that are included in the Regional Tax and Regional Retribution (PDRD) that we have created. This means that this is other income from the results of this waste management," said Rahman, Wednesday (3/1/2023).
Rahman added that some of the things that are listed regarding waste processing into compost are the capacity of the tonnage and how much can be sold later. Of course, the Malang City DLH will sell below market price, but regarding the system if it is later commercialized, that is what is currently being worked on. "Currently, the Supit Urang TPA can produce 30 tons of compost every month. This is a good potential to continue to be developed," explained Rahman.
So far, Rahman said that the Supit Urang TPA compost fertilizer has been distributed free of charge to local residents, distributed to 57 sub-districts, and also distributed to business actors, hotels and various communities. "There are plans for it to be commercialized in the future, so there must be regulations governing this matter. We hope that in January 2024 there will be regulations," Rahman hoped. (cah/yon)
