Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The extraordinary role of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) in giving color to the progress of the nation was commemorated with joy by all NU citizens of Malang City. In the framework of the commemoration of NU's centenary, all Nahdliyin citizens carried out the NU Panji Parade which departed from the Jami' Mosque of Malang City, Sunday (15/1).
Also present and sending off the NU flag procession were the Mayor of Malang Drs. H. Sutiaji, the Chairperson of the Tanfidziah PCNU of Malang City Isroqunnajah, the Rois Syuriah PC NU of Malang City KH Chamzawi, the former Mayor of Malang Muhammad Anton who is also the Mustasyar of PCNU of Malang City.
Malang Mayor Sutiaji said that NU's century is a moment of mutual self-reflection to become better. 100 years is not a young age for the largest Islamic community organization in Indonesia.
"Every commemoration is a moment for self-introspection. Where has this 100-year existence reached? Because in the future the challenges will be even tougher," explained Sutiaji, Sunday (15/1/2023).
Moreover, according to Sutiaji who is also Mustasyar PCNU Malang City, the enemies faced in the past are very different from the enemies faced today. The challenges will be increasingly difficult, the enemies in the past are visible, while in the present they are not visible.
He added that NU actually has the understanding of the movement and awakening of the ulama. Ulama are al ulama waratsatul anbiya. So it is very monumental that this century has been initiated by previous ulama.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of Tanfidziyah PCNU Malang City, Isroqunajah, said that the procession held this time was a commemoration of one century of NU. The activity began with the installation of the NU flag since January 10, 2023 at the PCNU Malang City Office, 120 branches and five Deputy Branch Councils (MWC). NU Malang City.
"The NU century parade is carried out internally by NU. After this agenda, it will be continued with the peak activity in Sidoarjo with the theme Caring for the Universe Building Civilization," explained Isroqunnajah. (cah/yon)
