Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Plenary Meeting of the Malang City Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) with the agenda of Delivering the Mayor of Malang's Response to the General Views of the Factions on the Draft Regional Regulation (Ranperda) for Child-Friendly Cities was held in the Plenary Meeting Room of the Malang City DPRD, Tuesday (31/1/2023). In this plenary meeting, the Deputy Mayor of Malang, Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko, representing the Mayor of Malang, read out 34 answers to questions from the factions.
The bespectacled man said that the draft regional regulation (ranperda) which will later become a regional regulation (perda) is indeed needed by Malang City. This is to provide protection, a sense of security, comfort and provide space for children to express themselves and actualize themselves.
The man who is often called Bung Edi added that to become a Child-Friendly City (KLA), there must be regulations that govern it. So this regulation will later fulfill that. "Malang City is heading in that direction. In 2021, the central government gave a fairly good assessment for Malang City with a score of 70 and in 2022 with a score of 80,4," he explained after the plenary meeting.
From all of that, Malang City deserves to be labeled as a Child-Friendly City. In order to perfect it, his party invites all elements of society to move together and have concern. Such as business people, law enforcement officers and businessmen.
"So if there are problems with children, such as violence and the current rampant cases of child kidnapping in a number of areas, then to prevent and overcome such things, there will be a legal umbrella that ultimately guarantees the safety, rights and obligations of children," explained Malang Deputy Mayor Sofyan Edi Jarwoko.
After this plenary meeting, the Malang City DPRD immediately formed a special committee (pansus) to study the Child-Friendly City Draft Regional Regulation. Regarding this, Sofyan Edi Jarwoko said that the Malang City Government is ready to help if needed so that this regulation can be implemented properly. (say/yon)
