Breadfruit (malangkota.go.id) – Residents of RW 11, Bandungrejosari Subdistrict, appeared enthusiastic about participating in the batik motif training. tie dye (tie-dye or tie-dye batik) at the RW 11 hall building, Bandungrejosari Village, Sukun District, Malang City, Saturday (18/2/2023).

Tie thighs is a technique for dyeing cloth with dyes to produce certain attractive patterns by dipping by hand or commonly called jumputan.Tie thighs comes from English, tie meaning to bind and Dye meaning dye.
Head of the PKK Team of Bandungrejosari Village Yani Agustin revealed that the many thematic villages in Malang City have made residents enthusiastic to be creative. Including residents of RW 11 who want to realize a batik village in their area.
"Bandungrejosari is now known as a racket center, shuttlecock, and in the future we want to make it a batik village," explained Yani, Saturday (18/2/2023).
From this desire, residents in RW 11 finally sent two people from each RT to be trained in batik making using the technique tie dye. They will be taught until they can do it so that later they can pass on the knowledge they have gained to their respective RT areas.
"Today, 16 people from eight RTs in RW 11, Bandungrejosari Subdistrict, are learning batik," he added.
Yani further said that batik with this technique tie dye was chosen as training material because the process is easier compared to hand-drawn batik.
“Participants in the batik activity tie dye "Today is a beginner batik maker, so they are taught the easy ones first. This activity itself will be held for two days, starting from February 18, 2023 and February 19, 2023," said Yani.
Meanwhile the batik making instructor tie dye, Utik Mardiati said the activities on the first day were batik making, coloring, and locking the color. After that the batik was fermented for one day before being washed so that the color would be absorbed into the fabric.
"We are excited to see the enthusiasm of the participants in learning batik. Hopefully the results will be good and in the future can bring many benefits," hoped Utik. (cah/yon)
