Breadfruit (malangkota.go.id) – Klayatan area, Bandungrejosari Village, Sukun District has long been known as the center of badminton racket production in Malang City. There are approximately 19 badminton racket manufacturers spread across this area, both on a small and large scale. Some of their production results have even penetrated the national market, through orders from several areas outside Malang, even from outside Java.

Interestingly, production is carried out by utilizing recycled waste from Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (3R) collected from residents through the Waste Disposal Site (TPS) in Bandungrejosari Village. This was explained by the Head of LPMK Bandungrejosari who is also the person in charge of the Klayatan Racket Making Center, Edi S. Bahrun during the inauguration of the Klayatan Racket Village, Friday (24/2/2023).
"For example, we recycle chicken eye production from 3R waste to reduce waste capacity. Later, we recycle the chicken eye waste again so that it continues to be sustainable," explained Edi.
Edi further explained that the Malang City Government (Pemkot) also provides serious attention to this industrial center. This is proven by the provision of six production machines that can help mass production through the Cooperatives, Industry, and Trade Service (Diskopindag). The assistance is in the form of a bench drill, a racket frame bending machine, a crusher machine, an inject molding machine, and a racket tightening machine.
"By using the injection machine, we can produce up to 100-150 kg of chicken eyes in one production," he explained.
Edi said that the assistance of the machine certainly greatly helped the racket craftsmen in the Klayatan area. Previously, the craftsmen had to buy racket support from other parties. However, now by using the automatic injection machine, production can be done faster and more massively.
"This injection machine can produce up to 90 tons. And one production only takes a maximum of 15 seconds," he concluded. (iu/yon)
