Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government (Pemkot) through the Transportation Agency (Dishub) together with the Traffic and Road Transportation Forum conducted a one-week evaluation of the implementation of the trial of traffic and road transportation management and engineering in the Klojen area of Malang City in the Malang Mayor's Meeting Room, Malang City Hall, Monday (27/3/2023).
Head of Malang City Transportation Agency Drs. R. Widjaja Saleh Putra said that improvements are continuously being made in the implementation of traffic and road transportation management and engineering trials in the Klojen area. Such as the installation of road safety and equipment facilities to support traffic safety while driving, as well as parking arrangements.
"The results of the joint evaluation with the Mayor (of Malang) and members of the Traffic and Road Transportation Forum in principle inventory the first day to the seventh day, Monday to Sunday. It is hoped that the results of this evaluation for one week will be a guideline for improvements in the following days," explained the man who is often called Jaya.
The trial of traffic and road transportation management and engineering in the Klojen area has been implemented starting Monday, February 20, 2023 starting at 05.00 WIB. In implementing the trial, every day officers from the Malang City Transportation Agency together with the ranks of the Police, TNI and Satpol PP of Malang City monitor and control traffic flow at several intersections in the Klojen area.
"There are things that need to be fixed or added to reduce the risk of accidents, namely by installing signs or markings that reduce the risk mitigation of accidents. Last night, shock tape was installed," he added.
Previously, the Transportation Agency had installed and painted shock tape in the traffic management and engineering trial areas, including in front of the Whiz Rajabali Hotel, in front of BNI Rajabali, Jalan Kahuripan before the bridge, in front of Kodim 0833 Kahuripan and in front of the Saigon Kahuripan Restaurant.
In addition, there are also zebra crossings at several points as crossing areas for pedestrians passing by. Among others, in front of Mixue after PLN and Hotel Trio 2, in front of Bakpia Mangkok Semeru, in front of New Hongkong Jl. Arief Rachman Hakim, in front of the Kampung Kayutangan Heritage door and in front of Kopi Lonceng Jl. Basuki Rahmat.
"Then another concern is related to parking. First, in Splendid, there are two-lane parking, it should be one. Second, in Ramayana and in front of the Post Office," he added.
Therefore, the Transportation Agency also manages vehicle parking arrangements and provides guidance to parking attendants so as not to hinder the smooth flow of traffic around it. Parking management that has been carried out includes on the sidewalk along Jalan Jenderal Basuki Rahmat, vehicles parked on Jalan Semeru (in front of SMP Mardiwiyata), vehicles parked and street vendors on Jalan Merdeka Selatan, in front of Ramayana/MPP and Jalan Brawijaya.
