Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Deputy Mayor of Malang Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko together with the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) of Malang City and the ranks of Regional Apparatus within the Malang City Government (Pemkot) attended an Online Roadshow with the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) of the Republic of Indonesia regarding the Acceleration of Stunting Reduction and the Elimination of Extreme Poverty in all Regencies/Cities in East Java from the Ngalam Command Center (NCC) room of Malang City Hall, Tuesday (1/3/2023).
Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Muhadjir Efendy said that the East Java region is a priority for handling the reduction of stunting and extreme poverty because its population is very large, which makes the aggregate effect very large up to the national level.
"East Java is our main concern, therefore, all officials, all district/city leaders must pay attention to two major issues, namely reducing stunting and extreme poverty," explained Minister Muhadjir.
On this occasion, the Coordinating Minister for PMK also conveyed to all regional heads to fulfill various needs in order to immediately handle stunting. Starting from providing tools to be a benchmark for stunting in Puskesmas and Posyandu to good education for the community from an early age.
It is hoped that by carrying out various interventions and handling of stunting in East Java, the stunting rate can be reduced. For this reason, hard work is needed from all parties to work together to have one vision in handling stunting and extreme poverty.
Meanwhile, Deputy Mayor of Malang Sofyan Edi Jarwoko after receiving direction from the Coordinating Minister for PMK RI revealed that regarding the handling of stunting, the Malang City Government will move quickly. Among them by involving all parties to carry out systematic handling.
"There are many innovations with local wisdom that can be used to handle stunting and extreme poverty. Let's continue to optimize all of that to be able to intervene in the occurrence of stunting and extreme poverty as conveyed by the Coordinating Minister for PMK," said the man who is often called Bung Edi.
