Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – The Youth, Sports and Tourism Agency (Disporapar) of Malang City held a Talkshow on Awareness of the Dangers of HIV/AIDS and Drugs at the Atria Hotel, Malang City, Monday (6/3/2023). The Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, was present at the talk show and also provided material on being independent and resilient without drugs for sustainable progress.

The Mayor of Malang revealed that on the 109th Anniversary of Malang City on April 1, 2023, the theme was 'Independent, Resilient, Sustainable' because later entering 2045-2050, Indonesia is predicted to become one of the three giant countries in the world. "One of the components of Indonesia being able to become a world giant is because of the demographic bonus," explained Sutiaji, Monday (6/3/2023).
He explained that the productive age in Indonesia ranks highest, and the most are in the working age. Therefore, this demographic bonus must be utilized well. So now what must be strengthened is the independence of the young generation.
"Why are currently developing countries including Indonesia which has a demographic bonus being targeted for drug trafficking? Because Indonesia has everything, such as abundant natural resources. If the natural resources are abundant but not supported by human resources, then what is the meaning of natural resources? The way to destroy human resources is by destroying our brothers and sisters through free association, secondly through drug abuse," he explained.
For this reason, according to him, it is very important to hold a talk show like this which can provide education to the young generation in Malang City so that in the future, it is hoped that the young generation in Malang City will become a superior generation that can bring Indonesia to the golden age.
Concerns about drug abuse and distribution were also conveyed by the Head of Disporapar Malang City Baihaqi, S.Pd, SE, M.Si. According to him, this is a very complex dimension of the problem, especially since drugs are currently a very disturbing phenomenon in Indonesia.
"That is why it is necessary to be followed seriously in maintaining young people as assets and successors of the nation. This is the background of this activity," explained Baihaqi.
He explained that the first purpose of this activity is to provide socialization about the dangers of HIV/AIDS and drug abuse among young people. "Building agreement and participation of young people to understand the dangers of HIV/AIDS and drugs and how to prevent and overcome them," explained Baihaqi.
This activity was attended by participants, namely young people in Malang City with an age range of 16 to 30 years. The resource persons for this activity were the Head of the Malang City BNN, Senior Commissioner. Pol. Raymundus Andhi Hedianto, SIK, from Syaiful Anwar Hospital, dr.
