Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Transportation Agency (Dishub) together with personnel from the TNI-Polri and the Malang City Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) held a joint operation on illegal parking, Monday (6/3/2023). This time, officers targeted a number of places that were indicated as often being used for parking in the wrong places even though no parking signs had been installed.

Some of the target points of the operation were on Jalan Trunojoyo, Jalan Pattimura, Jalan Merdeka Selatan and on Jalan Kauman. As a result, as many as 20 cars were locked for parking carelessly and dozens of car owners were advised not to park carelessly.
For locked vehicles, the car owner makes a statement not to repeat the same thing. However, if they still violate, they will be subject to a ticket. This is to provide a deterrent effect for vehicle owners so that they can be orderly when parking.
Head of Malang City Transportation Agency Drs. R. Widjaja Saleh Putra after the joint operation revealed that this operation was not only to discipline drivers, but also to reduce the triggers of traffic congestion.
"We will continue to carry out similar operations periodically, especially when there are complaints from the public. We also appeal to the public if they find a location that is used for parking haphazardly or not in its place, immediately notify our officers," he said.
A few days earlier, officers also conducted a similar operation and found four cars on Jalan Jaksa Agung Suprapto that were subject to action. "When we see a car parked out of place, we wait 20-30 minutes if the owner does not come then we immediately lock it," said the man who is often called Jaya.
Officers also conducted an inspection of the odong-odong vehicle that had been reported to be parked on Jalan Merdeka Selatan. However, when checked at the location, officers did not find it again. "However, later we will operate again because this odong-odong also causes traffic jams," concluded the bespectacled man. (say/yon)
