Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The implementation of traffic engineering and road transportation management in the Klojen area, which includes several roads around Malang City Hall, such as Jalan Tugu, Jalan Majapahit, Jalan Kahuripan and Jalan Basuki Rahmat, has started since February 20, 2023. The Malang City Transportation Agency (Dishub) plans to implement this traffic engineering management test for three weeks.

In relation to this, during approximately two weeks of the implementation of traffic engineering management, traffic flow was monitored to be smooth even though the number of road users increased and traffic flow tended to be dense at several points. As seen at the intersection from Jalan Jaksa Agung Suprapto heading to Jalan Semeru and Jalan Kahuripan.
Some of these things were conveyed by the Head of the Malang City Transportation Agency, Drs. R. Widjaja Saleh Putra, Tuesday (7/3/2023). According to him, when the traffic flow is blocked, officers immediately go to the location to clear the traffic flow, so that the incident does not last long and does not trigger congestion.
The bespectacled man added that at several points that were indicated to trigger traffic jams, officers from the Transportation Agency, Satpol PP and assisted by the Police were placed. "In addition to dissipating the flow, these officers also drive away vehicles that are parked in the wrong place, because it will also trigger traffic jams," he explained.
Despite all that, the man who is often called Jaya appealed to drivers not to drive their vehicles at high speeds that can be dangerous. Like when there are drivers who do not understand the direction of one lane, if other drivers drive at high speed, it can trigger traffic accidents.
In order to reduce the triggers of traffic congestion, the Transportation Agency also plans to move the zebra crossing or pedestrian crossing on Jalan Basuki Rahmat (in front of BCA_ed). The reason is that the zebra crossing is too close to the intersection of the road leading to Jalan Kahuripan and Jalan Semeru.
In addition to causing traffic jams, he said it also endangers people who are going to cross the road. "We will later move the zebra crossing further north. This is also what drivers must pay attention to, and the need to drive at an average speed, when there is a zebra crossing to give people who are going to cross the road a chance," concluded Jaya.
