Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Batik Malangan is one of the characteristics of Malang City that continues to be introduced to the wider community. One of the efforts is through the Competition Fashion Batik Malangan, initiated by the Malang City Regional National Crafts Council (Dekranasda) in collaboration with the Malang City Government (Pemkot) at the Kartini Building, Thursday (9/3/2023).
The Chairperson of Dekranasda Malang City, Widayati Sutiaji, S.Sos, MM said that in addition to further introducing Batik Malangan, this activity is also a form of support for the program to be proud of using domestic products.
"Today we are holding the Malang City Expo which we routinely hold. I hope that with the Malang City Expo, Malang products will not only be famous in Malang City, East Java and Indonesia, but can also be known worldwide," Widayati hoped.
The woman in the hijab further revealed that the Malangan Batik Competition was one of the activities in the series of events for the Malang City Expo 2023. "Today we are holding an activity, the first day is the Malangan Batik Competition. As we know, MSMEs are the driving force of the economy, and it is a program from the President of the Republic of Indonesia that we must be proud to use domestic products," she explained.
The theme of this fashion competition is Batik Malangan. With the hope that batik makers in Malang City will be appreciated and their designers will also be appreciated. For this reason, ASN in the Malang City Government environment is involved in enlivening and booming batik which is the local wisdom of Malang City, namely Batik Malangan.
"For that we show, Malangan products are not only successful in Malang but also nationally and even internationally. Alhamdulillah in Malang City Expo 2023 many also from outside Malang City participated, such as Banking, regional companies, and others," he concluded. (yul/yon)
