Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – To prevent loan sharks disguised as cooperatives from running rampant, the Malang City Cooperatives, Industry and Trade Service (Diskopindag) took a strategic step by holding a Socialization on the Eradication of Loan Sharks Disguised as Cooperatives at the Tychi Hotel, Malang City, Monday (13/3/2023).
Secretary of the Malang City Trade and Industry Office, Soni Bachtiar, SE, said that this socialization was held to provide education to the public so that they do not get trapped by loan sharks disguised as cooperatives.
"We want to straighten out the understanding so that the public increasingly understands how cooperatives are in accordance with the mandate of Law Number 25 of 1992 concerning Cooperatives. We hope that in the future there will be no more Malang City residents trapped by loan sharks," Soni hoped.
In this socialization, Diskopindag presented competent speakers in their fields, starting from the District Attorney's Office, the East Java Provincial Cooperative Service and also from the Professional Certification Institute (LSP). The goal is for the public to increasingly understand the correct cooperatives. Where in Malang City there are currently 625 cooperatives and 362 of them are healthy cooperatives.
Soni added, one of the criteria for a cooperative to be considered healthy is that at least the cooperative has held an Annual Members Meeting (RAT) in the last two years in a row. Second, the cooperative is healthy in terms of management, finances, and membership.
After attending this socialization, Soni hopes that the participants will be able to share the information they have obtained. Either to their closest people, fellow cooperative members or the general public. (cah/yon)
