DLH Holds Synergy Forum for Implementation of Environmental Protection and Management

Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Environmental Service (DLH) of Malang City held an activity on Synergy of Environmental Protection and Management in Malang City at the Savana Hotel, Malang City, Wednesday (15/3/2023). Attended by participants including business actors from industry, health, tourism, BUMD and SMEs, this activity invited speakers with various backgrounds, including academics.

In his speech, the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, revealed that the success of Malang City in winning the Adipura Cup cannot be separated from the extraordinary togetherness. Synergy together is the key to bringing Malang City to achieve various achievements. "Thank you to everyone who has worked together to continue to protect the environment," said Sutiaji.

In order to maintain the environment properly, the Mayor of Malang said that there must be compliance from various parties. "This is where it is finally answered why there must be an environmental impact analysis, and how to balance the basic needs of society with the company. Don't just chase profit, while the needs of society are still ignored," said Sutiaji.

Meanwhile, Head of DLH Malang City Noer Rahman Wijaya revealed that environmental protection and management are systematic and integrated efforts carried out to preserve environmental functions and prevent environmental pollution or damage. "Including planning, utilization, maintenance control, supervision and law enforcement," he explained.

Along with the development of business activities in Malang City, he emphasized the need for equipment for business activities that have been approached with permits in accordance with applicable regulations.

"Therefore, business actors in Malang City need to know and understand the latest regulations related to environmental protection and management regulations. This is in accordance with Government Regulation Number 22 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of Environmental Protection and Management," he explained further.

Rahman said that the purpose and objective of this activity is to improve the knowledge and understanding of business actors in Malang City in managing the environment in accordance with applicable government regulations. The second is to encourage business actors to continue to submit reports on environmental management obligations as a form of evaluation of the implementation of environmental management activities in their businesses.

"And give appreciation to the private sector and BUMN and BUMD for the synergy in managing the environment," he concluded. (cah/yon)
