Bali (malangkota.go.id) ‐ The Malang City Government has again received an award at the 2023 Public Relations Indonesia (PRIA) Award for the Most Popular category in Print and Online Media 2022, City Government subcategory.

The 8th PR Indonesia Award was received by the Head of the Malang City Communication and Information Service (Diskominfo), Muhammad Nur Widianto, S.Sos, representing the Mayor of Malang at the Aston Denpasar Hotel & Convention Center, Denpasar, Friday (17/3/2023).
This award shows the attention and appreciation given by the media to various issues and developments in Malang City which based on the assessment showed the highest number of positive exposures in print and online media.
Founder and CEO of PR Indonesia, Asmono Wikan, said that to complement several judging-based categories, PR Indonesia collaborated with Indonesia Indicator to present the Most Popular category in Print and Online Media.
"The assessment method in this category is based on the total and sentiment of news coverage (exposure) in more than 250 print media and 11.000 online media during the period January 1, 2022 - December 31, 2022," explained Asmono.
The 2023 PR Indonesia Award carries the theme 'Communication for Civilization of the Country' where Bali witnessed the peak of the eighth PRIA event. He said, Bali is always special for one of the competitions public relations (PR) the biggest in the country. Because, this event was born in Bali in 2016.
"Today, there is almost no institution that does not consider PR as a strategic function. Public relations is a very strategic element in an organization. PR is important, where the position of PR must be on the neck of management," he said.
Asmono congratulated all the winners who received the 2023 PRIA awards. He hopes that in the future PR people can produce dedicated performance for agencies for a better Indonesia.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Malang City Communication and Informatics Agency (Diskominfo), Muhammad Nur Widianto, after receiving an award in the most comprehensive PR competition, said that all levels of the Malang City Government (Pemkot) appreciated and expressed their gratitude for the role of media colleagues on various platforms for their attention.
Throughout 2022, the media has given extensive attention to various achievements made by Malang City. Among them are related to the increasing achievement of the Human Development Index (HDI) of Malang City and the creative economy movement that accompanies the activation of the Malang Creative Center (MCC).
"It was recorded that 31 national awards and 13 East Java awards were won by Malang City. The success of Malang City is also shown in the majority of performance indicators, where the Human Development Index (HDI) of Malang City increased to 82,71," he explained.
In terms of improving the quality of human resources, the 2022 HDI achievement is the second highest in East Java and far above the national average.
"The media also paid attention to the presence of the Malang Creative Center (MCC). The MCC project was positively reported by the media to accommodate UMKM actors to improve their businesses and absorb more workers in Malang City as a strengthening of the creative economy," he concluded. (yul/yon)
