Stone, (malangkota.go.id) – Economic performance in the Bank Indonesia Malang work area, including Malang City, is expected to continue its positive trend, although moderated by ongoing geopolitical tensions and global energy and food prices.

This was conveyed by the Head of the Bank Indonesia (BI) Malang Representative Office, Samsun Hadi, at the Synergy Towards a Creative, Resilient, Tested and Digitalized Economy (Sekartaji) 2023 event in Batu, Friday (17/3/2023).
Alhamdulillah in Malang, economic growth is better than the province and national. Credit financing performance grew positively and NPL (Non-Performing Loan) still below five percent. We also encourage financial literacy,
"We are also deepening the role of TP2DD (Regional Digitalization Acceleration and Expansion Team), including onboarding MSMEs," explained Samsun.
In order to maintain the stability of growth, strengthening the digitalization of the payment system is one of the national policies. Malang, according to Samsun, has shown very good performance.
"The use of non-cash transactions, especially QRIS, reached 472 thousand, an increase of around 20 percent compared to last year," he added.
This is in line with the results of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) survey which was released in December 2022, where the level of financial literacy in Malang City was measured at 69,43 percent, and this is the highest nationally.
This figure shows that people are increasingly aware of information and developments in the current financial world.
Due to this progress, Malang City also received an award from Bank Indonesia as one of the best TP2DD in 2023.
Thank you for the appreciation from Bank Indonesia Malang. Financial literacy and digital literacy in Malang City, thank God, are getting better.
"Of course, this is a joint effort of all of us," said the Assistant for Economic Development of the Malang City Regional Secretariat, Ir. Diah Ayu Kusuma Dewi, MT after receiving the award on behalf of the Mayor of Malang.
In addition to optimizing TP2DD, the expansion of Government Transaction Electronification (ETP) in the future continues to be a serious effort by the Malang City Government.
Among them are through breakthroughs in digitalization of regional tax and levy payments, expanding the use of electronic catalogs for procurement of goods/services and developing the Malpro MSME shopping application.
The hope is that digitalization support that touches the real sector will be able to maintain the stability of Malang City's economic growth, which in 2022 will reach its highest record in the last 12 years at 6,32 percent. (ndu/yon/toeb)
