This working visit was held in order to exchange knowledge between regions, especially in terms of public services, digitalization, MSME development, and regional order.

Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji welcomed the visit from 'Negeri Laskar Pelangi' which he said was very strategic for mutual learning in order to provide increasingly adaptive and transformative public services.

"Malang City is a warehouse of IT (information technology). There are dozens of study programs with thousands of students and other creative children who contribute to the development of the creative economy and the digitalization of public services," said Sutiaji.

Sutiaji said that the quality of Human Resources (HR) and bureaucratic reform have indeed been the focus of his leadership since the beginning. This has been realized through the Malang Creative Center (MCC), the Merdeka Public Service Mall (MPP), the Malpro UMKM Shopping Application and collaboration on curriculum development based on the needs of the digital industry.

Meanwhile, the Regent of East Belitung, Burhanudin expressed his appreciation for the willingness of Malang City to share many things and development tips. He considered Malang City to have quite good progress as a reference for the development of the East Belitung region as a relatively young expansion area, namely 20 years old and is currently improving its infrastructure and superstructure.

"Now the central government is aggressively pushing a digital-based government system. There are things we can take from Malang such as (ease of) licensing and SPBE," explained Burhanudin. (ndu/yon)
