Talking about culinary in Kayutangan area, it feels less perfect if we miss the food center located in the Plaza Telkom Kayutangan area. This food tenant that has been present since 2012 has become a culinary legend for the locals.
One of them is Siomai Barokah, or better known as Siomai Telkom. Its presence since 2012 has made it one of the culinary delights that sticks in the minds of the people of Malang City when talking about legendary culinary delights.
Dimas, the owner of Siomay Telkom, said that his father started this Bandung siomay business in the 2000s. Initially, his father sold around the Buring area using a cart. It was only in 2012 when Pujasera Telkom opened that his father moved into the area and was continued by Dimas until now. "Now I am in full control of this business. So, from the production process at home to trading, I do it," he said.
Like siomai in general, Siomai Telkom serves siomai with its accompaniments such as tofu, bitter melon, egg, cabbage and also potato. For each portion complete with various fillings, Dimas charges a price of Rp. 15.000,00. "You can have it complete, if you want a choice, you can also. If siomai is Rp. 4.000,00, bitter melon and egg are Rp. 2.000,00, the others are Rp. 1.000,00," he explained.
To be able to enjoy this siomai, the location is next to Toko Oen near Plaza Telkom Kayutangan which is located in the Zone 3 Kayutangan area. The cart looks simple on the north side of Plaza Telkom, but don't be surprised if you see a long queue of customers who want to enjoy this siomai.
This siomai stall opens at 12.00 WIB and will close when supplies run out. Its customers are also diverse, ranging from employees around the location, local residents, and also tourists who never stop visiting the Kayutangan Heritage area. (iu/yon)
