Starfruit, (malangkota.go.id) – The inauguration of the Regional Management of the Online Journalists Association (IWO) Malang Raya for the 2022-2027 period was special because it was part of a series of activities with the IWO Award at the Atria Hotel, Malang City, Monday (20/3/2023). The IWO Award is an award event given by IWO Malang Raya to public figures for their dedication and consistency in building Malang Raya.
IWO Award consists of two categories, namely Malang Best Figure and the Young Impactful category. Each category selected ten Malang Raya figures to be awarded.
Deputy Mayor of Malang Ir. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko who was present representing the Mayor of Malang expressed his deep appreciation for what IWO Malang Raya had done. "Congratulations on the inauguration of the IWO Malang Raya management for the 2022-2027 period. So far, IWO has worked together with the local government and the community to build the city we love, our region, namely Malang Raya," he explained, Monday (20/3).
The man who is often called Bung Edi added that the existence of IWO can be a check and balance, providing constructive input for progress and development in Malang Raya. "This is the characteristic of the Indonesian Press," explained Bung Edi.
Moreover, in the future there is an important momentum of the national agenda that must be made a success together, namely the 2024 Simultaneous Democratic Party. He said that a dignified democratic process requires support from all parties, including the media.
"The media will help report and educate the public. We guard and maintain the democratic process," Edi said.
On this occasion, Bung Edi also expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the role of IWO which has collaborated well so far. "Pentahelix synergistic collaboration is very important, collaboration between the government, society, academics, entrepreneurs, and also the media," he explained.
The ten figures who received the title of Malang Best Figure 2022 include Prof. Dr. Muhadjir Effendy, M.AP (Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia), Drs. H. Sutiaji (Mayor of Malang), I Made Rian Diana Kartika (Chairman of the Malang City DPRD), Laily Fitriyah Liza Min Nelly (entrepreneur), Ely Estiningtyas Jarwoko (Chairman I of the Malang City PKK TP), Yuni Sara (artist), Prof. Dyah Sawitri, SE, MM (Head of LLDIKTI Region VII East Java), Ir. H. Ridwan Hisyam (Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives Commission VII), Dr. H. Isroqunnajah, M.Ag (Chairman of Tanfidziyah PCNU Malang City), Risa Santoso, BA, M.Ed (Rector of the Asian Institute of Technology and Business Malang).
Meanwhile, the ten figures who received the title of Young and Impactful include Moreno Soeprapto, dr. Gamal Albinsaid, Alfi Nur Hidayat, M. Nur Mukhlas, Zulham A. Mubarrok, Nina Agustin, Redi Eko Prasetyo, Dian Agung Anggraeni, Bambang GW, and Yulia Rahmawati. (cah/yon)
