Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government (Pemkot) attended the Coordination Meeting of the Leadership of Ministries/Institutions of the Regional Government Corruption Eradication Program and the Launch of the 2023 Monitoring Center for Prevention (MCP) Indicators virtually from the Ngalam Command Center (NCC) room at Malang City Hall, Tuesday (21/03/2023).
Present at the coordination meeting were the Mayor of Malang Drs. H. Sutiaji, Regional Secretary of Malang City Erik Setyo Santoso, ST, MT, Chairman of the Malang City DPRD I Made Rian Diana, as well as the ranks of Assistants, Expert Staff, and heads of regional apparatus within the Malang City Government.
This coordination meeting carries the theme 'Strengthening Synergy in Preventing Corruption in the Licensing and Procurement of Goods and Services Sector in Regional Governments Ahead of the Political Year'.
Secretary General of the Indonesian Ministry of Home Affairs Dr. H. Suhajar Diantoro, M.Si representing the Indonesian Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) in his direction said that corruption is an extraordinary crime that has extraordinary impacts so it must be handled in an extraordinary manner as well.
"Various efforts have been made by the government, starting from the enforcement approach to create a deterrent effect. Prevention to build a system that does not provide space for corruption. And anti-corruption education in the context of education," explained Suhajar.
In an effort to prevent corruption by the central government, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), institutions and agencies synergize in an integrated manner in eight intervention areas of 30 indicators, 63 sub-indicators which are the focus of the MCP.
"The eight intervention areas that are the focus of MCP include licensing, procurement of goods and services, planning and budgeting of the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD), supervision of the Government Internal Supervisory Apparatus (APIP), management of the State Civil Apparatus (ASN), regional asset management, optimization of regional taxes, and village financial governance," he explained.
Meanwhile, KPK Chairman, Firli Bahuri said that to optimize corruption prevention, the KPK took strategic steps by initiating the MCP program by synergizing and collaborating with related agencies.
"Regional heads and DPRD have important roles. First, realizing the goals of the state, ensuring political stability and security, ensuring public safety from all disasters and economic growth, ensuring certainty of ease of investment and business licensing, implementing and ensuring the sustainability of national development programs and realizing an apparatus that is free from KKN (Corruption, Collusion, Nepotism)," he explained.
MCP itself is an application or dashboard developed by the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) with the aim of monitoring the performance achievements of corruption prevention programs, namely by improving governance implemented by local governments throughout Indonesia.
On the same occasion, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) and the BPKP as well as the launching of the Indicator Monitoring Center for Prevention. The activity was also continued with the reading of the regional head's anti-corruption commitment pledge. (yul/yon)
