The Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, conducted a Ramadan Safari at the Miftahul Jannah Mosque, Sawojajar

Malang Mayor Sutiaji, while giving a sermon, said that this was the fourth time his party had conducted a Ramadan Safari around mosques in Malang City. Sutiaji on this occasion said that prospering mosques is a shared task. "The goal is that when someone leaves the mosque, they can be a perfect person, a perfect person, a moderate person," explained Sutiaji, Monday (27/3/2023).

He said that by becoming a perfect human being, one will be able to appreciate and solve problems, and can provide welfare for those around one, regardless of who the person is.

Mosques, said Sutiaji, must be able to play and function as in the time of the Prophet. At that time the role of the mosque was very central as a place for people to gather to discuss various things. As well as the many functions of the mosque, including the main function as a place of worship, a place of education, a place for social society, and so on.

"Why in the mosque? Because in the mosque, God willing, it is easier to remember Allah as exemplified and developed by previous scholars," explained Sutiaji.

Meanwhile, the Head of Takmir of Miftahul Jannah Mosque, H. Amin Sidik admitted that he was very happy that the Mayor of Malang could attend and give a sermon. According to him, the presence of the Mayor of Malang and all of his staff was a motivation in itself.

"Thank God, today the Mayor of Malang is here. "This is an encouragement for us to continue preaching and developing the people," said Amin.

Amin said that the Miftahul Jannah Mosque had begun construction in 1991 and was inaugurated in 1993. This mosque was built with the characteristics of a Javanese mosque like the one in Demak Mosque.

"The characteristic of this mosque building is a Javanese Mosque as inherited by Wali Songo. Since its establishment until now, the Miftahul Jannah Mosque has continued to actively preach," said Amin. (cah/yon)
