Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Ahead of the 109th Anniversary of Malang City, the Malang City Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) held a Special Plenary Meeting in the Plenary Meeting Room of the Malang City DPRD Building, Friday (31/3/2023). This Plenary Meeting was attended by the Forkopimda Plus, the Head of the Malang Raya Region, members of the Malang City DPRD, heads of regional apparatuses, heads of vertical agencies, and sub-district heads and village heads throughout Malang City.

In his speech, the Mayor of Malang Drs. H. Sutiaji expressed his gratitude for the collaboration that has been carried out by all parties to build the City of Malang. He said that it would be impossible for the achievements of the City of Malang in various fields to be fulfilled without a well-formed collaboration with stakeholders.
"This is an extraordinary achievement, building one frequency, finding the identity of Malang City, building a rhythm that is cheerful and pleasant is something that is not easy. Not just wishful thinking. Our achievements can be fulfilled when there is collaboration and acceleration. Thank you to Forkopimda," he said.
Furthermore, Sutiaji said that one of the results of the collaboration that was built was that Malang City had planned to become fiscally independent in 2023. He said that the creative economy was also growing. In 2021, the growth of the creative economy was five percent, but now the growth of the creative economy is around 10 percent.
Along with that, it is now diagnosed that the open unemployment rate has also decreased. Young people with extraordinary talents who previously contributed to open unemployment, now have a shared ecosystem so that open unemployment has also decreased.
"For several years we have had the highest open unemployment rate, but this year we are in fifth place, meaning our open unemployment has decreased. Likewise, we have been able to reduce the poverty rate together. However, our homework is to reduce the Gini ratio," said Sutiaji.
The Malang City Government is also increasingly showing its support for the people's economy, one of which is the policy to shop at MSMEs. "We start from ASN Malang City who we require to shop at MSMEs. Not just shopping at modern retail outlets, but shopping at _mlijo_, a convenience store. It is mandatory for ASN to prioritize the little people whose food depends on micro businesses. Hopefully this will have an impact on economic growth and the Gini ratio will decrease," he said.
Malang City Government also has a program for ASN to become foster parents for children at risk of stunting. Through this program, it is hoped that the stunting rate can be reduced. Each ASN is also responsible for interventions in the health of their foster children. Such as related to nutritional intake needs.
In relation to the theme of the 109th anniversary of Malang City, namely Independent, Resilient, Sustainable, Mayor Sutiaji said that it contains a hope and desire that Malang City wants to achieve in its increasing age.
Mandiri, Sutiaji said that according to the mandate stated in the law, regional governments are expected to be able to build local wisdom so that they do not always depend on the center.
"Alhamdulillah, this is our commitment so that we strengthen the potential of our region so that it can be independent. When it is independent, God willing, we will be able to manage it with our needs. This is our ideal, not only the APBD is independent, but the community is also independent," he explained.
Sutiaji said that currently we are facing digital disruption. In addition, foreign cultures have also entered and begun to influence people's lives. "So we must have ideological resilience. The resilience and character of the nation must be built well. This must be our commitment that we must progress but do not forget that we have an Indonesian identity," he continued.
Finally, the number one person in the ranks of the Malang City Government said that the development of Malang City must be based on sustainable principles. The bespectacled man revealed that the success of the current development of Malang City is also supported by the foundations built by the previous government. "There must be a sustainable program in order to achieve development," he concluded. (ari/yon)
