Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Malang City was appointed as the host of the 2023 East Java Provincial Level Regional Recreational Sports Festival (FORDA) I. This was conveyed by the Chairman of the Indonesian Community Sports Committee (KORMI) of Malang City, Ir. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko during an audience with the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji in the Malang Mayor's Meeting Room, Malang City Hall, Monday (3/4/2023).
The implementation of FORDA is one of KORMI's efforts to socialize recreational sports and improve the health and physical fitness of the community. Various preparations continue to be made for the success of the implementation of FORDA I at the East Java Provincial Level in Malang City.
"In the technical instructions, the 2023 FORDA I which has been determined will be followed by 31 Parent Sports Organizations (Inorga) with 109 festival numbers. There are 17 venues that will be used, and for now, God willing, around 20 districts/cities out of 22 districts/cities that already have KORMI are ready to participate, and will increase because the formation of KORMI in the regions is being intensified," explained the Deputy Mayor of Malang.
FORDA I East Java is planned to be held at the end of May 2023. FORDA East Java Province Level 2023 organized by KORMI East Java is also an evaluation to monitor the interests and talents of participants to be selected and developed in preparation for the 2023 National Recreational Sports Festival (FORNAS).
"There are various sports that will be competed, starting from health and fitness sports groups such as gymnastics including dance. In addition, there are also cultural creation sports such as traditional kung fu, traditional fighting arts, the Indonesian old bicycle community, kempo martial arts and others," he added.
In order for the implementation of FORDA Jatim to run smoothly and successfully, the man who is familiarly called Bung Edit hopes that the FORDA Jatim 2023 activity can involve all elements and potentials in Malang City through cooperation and synergy. In addition, he also hopes that the KORMI contingent of Malang City as the host of FORDA Jatim will also succeed in achieving the best achievements.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Malang, Drs H. Sutiaji, appreciated and expressed his gratitude to KORMI Malang City for their enthusiasm and various preparations being made as the host of FORDA East Java 2023.
He hopes that the FORDA event at the Jati Mini Provincial Level can revive the 'hustle and bustle' of sports in Malang City and from this event can drive economic growth in Malang City. (yul/yon)
