Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government (Pemkot) is again holding a Ramadan Safari. This time, the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, accompanied by the Regional Secretary of Malang City and the regional apparatus, carried out the Ramadan Safari at the Hidayatul Muhtadin Mosque, Wonokoyo Village, Kedungkandang District, Malang City, Tuesday (4/4/2023).
Malang Mayor Sutiaji expressed his gratitude for still being given a long life and health so that the Safari Ramadhan at the Hidayatul Muhtadin Mosque could be carried out. "After the taklim assembly, we visit. With visitation, our fortune will definitely be increased, and our life will also be increased," said the bespectacled man, Tuesday (4/4/2023).
While giving a sermon, Sutiaji revealed about life, in which there is ijarah (agreement). Allah SWT has given guidance to his people if they do not want to suffer losses in the world and the hereafter, namely by strengthening faith and piety to Allah SWT and His messenger.
Especially in this Holy Month of Ramadan, Sutiaji said it should be utilized as well as possible so that there will be no regrets later. "Regret usually comes later, when there is no more opportunity to do good," he explained.
On this occasion, the Mayor of Malang also explained about the dimensions of time which are divided into three, yesterday, today, and tomorrow. "Let us not fail to take advantage of the opportunity given by Allah SWT to do every good thing even though it is small, especially until death comes to us without doing good," he said again.
As stated in Surah Al-Munafiqun, Allah SWT commands believers to donate (do good deeds) before death comes and there will only be regrets.
Humans, Sutiaji said, are given reason to think. Allah SWT repeatedly mentions 'do you not think' in the Quran. This means that in religion, every human being must always use their common sense.
The Mayor of Malang also described gratitude and patience as two sides of a coin. "It is impossible for us to be grateful if we cannot be patient. Likewise, we will not be patient if we are not grateful. The concept that we will be able to be grateful in terms of worldly pleasures, then look at those below us, do not look at those who are higher," he explained.
Sutiaji also emphasized that there is no end to pursuing the world. "We only realize when death has come," concluded the number one person in the Malang City Government.
Meanwhile, Takmir of Hidayatul Muhtadin Mosque, Ustaz Isnari admitted to being very happy with the presence of the Mayor of Malang who is also a preacher. The presence of the Mayor of Malang is eagerly awaited by the Hidayatul Muhtadin congregation to gain knowledge from a teacher.
"Alhamdulillah today is an extraordinary day for us to be able to meet the Mayor of Malang directly. This is a beautiful moment for us," Isnari said. (cah/yon)
