Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Mayor of Malang Drs. H. Sutiaji received an audience with the Indonesian Heart Foundation (YJI) Malang Raya Branch in the Mayor's Meeting Room, Malang City Hall, Thursday (6/4/2021). In this audience, the Mayor of Malang was accompanied by the Assistant for General Administration of the Malang City Secretariat and other related agency heads.

Malang Mayor Sutiaji said YJI always supports the Malang City Government (Pemkot) program in an effort to improve health services, especially for heart disease patients in Malang City. Likewise, the Malang Mayor said that the Malang City Government will always support the programs carried out by YJI.
According to him, promotive and preventive programs need to be strengthened, with the hope of reducing the number of heart patients. "Later, the cooperation may not only be with the Health Office (Dinkes). It could be that because of its promotive nature, awareness of getting used to a healthy life can start from school children at the Education and Culture Office. Also, other regional apparatuses can also support according to their duties and functions," he explained.
Regarding grant funds, Sutiaji said that it has become a requirement for local governments to support YJI activities through grant funds even though the mechanism stated in the Minister of Home Affairs Regulation cannot be provided routinely every year.
However, Sutiaji said it is possible that the Malang City Government will provide grant funding support through a subsidiary foundation owned by YJI. The nominal grant funds provided by the Malang City Government are of course based on the proposal submitted by the organization. "This (nominal value) proposed is rational or not. The value of the benefits is not only the output, but also the outcome. The hope is that the funds that are disbursed later will be easy to account for," he explained again.
For your information, YJI is a non-governmental organization that partners with the Ministry of Health. YJI implements various programs that are promotive, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative for patients with heart disease.
"We want to be a pioneer of a healthy lifestyle by educating and providing information while changing people's lifestyles," said the Head of YJI Malang Raya Branch, Hj. Hanik Dwi Martya P., S.Farm, MAP.
In the preventive field, YJI fosters the Healthy Heart Club (KJS). Until now, in Malang City there are 23 Healthy Heart Clubs with 1.341 members, consisting of 345 men and 996 women. Hanik also revealed that the Malang Raya YJI Branch also wants to form a Youth Heart Club in Malang City.
"We really hope for the support of the Mayor of Malang to be willing to help us so that the Youth Heart Club and Healthy Heart Club in areas that have not yet been formed can be formed," continued the wife of the Deputy Regent of Malang.
Hanik also expressed her gratitude for the grant funds provided by the Regional Government throughout Malang Raya which are useful for organizing the activities of the YJI Malang Raya Branch. YJI has received grant funds from the Malang City Government since 2013. "From a value of 50 million rupiah to God willing in 2023, it will be worth 184 million rupiah. We do not receive this fund every year, considering that the rules are like that and the value varies. We measure it from the needs of patients and several activities that we will do later in Malang City," she said.
YJI also collaborates with Saiful Anwar Hospital Malang and Harapan Kita Hospital Jakarta to treat heart disease patients in Malang Raya. There are 17 patients from Malang City registered in the YJI curative program from a total of 100 patients throughout Malang Raya who have been operated on.
"With this gathering, hopefully the YJI Malang Raya Branch's movement, both promotive, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative, will be even stronger and more solid with the support of the government. In connection with the anniversary of Malang City, we routinely do joint exercise with all KJS in Malang City. God willing, the plan will be at Gajayana Stadium on May 14, 2023," he concluded.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Chairperson of YJI Malang Raya Branch who is a cardiologist in Malang City, Prof. Dr. dr. H. Djanggan Sargowo, Sp. PD, Sp. JP(K), FIHA, FACC, FCAPC, FEsC stated that Malang City is already representative for carrying out heart treatment.
