This step was taken as an effort by the Malang City Government to convert conventional energy sources into new renewable energy (EBT), namely solar power.

President Director (Dirut) of Perumda Tunas, Dodot Triwidodo, SE, MM said that the construction of PJUTS was carried out as part of Perumda Tunas' duties as stated in Regional Regulation (Perda) Number 5 Article 9, namely regarding the procurement of electricity, including from biogas. In addition, the construction of PJU-TS is also an effort to realize green energy in Malang City.

"The first goal is of course cost efficiency, the second is... green energy, then thirdly the regional government can get other credit from the existence of carbon trading, "He explained.

Later, if they already have PJU-TS, the local government can add other things related to technology, such as for example for internet connection installation and CCTV installation, because according to Dodot, the potential for PJU-TS development is very large and is not limited to street lighting alone.

Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji also appreciated Perumda Tunas' steps in collaborating with PT Panah Perak Megasarana to assist the Malang City Government in providing public facilities. According to him, this step is a real manifestation of Perumda Tunas as a Regionally-Owned Enterprise (BUMD) in easing the burden on the local government.

"In accordance with the mandate given to (Perumda) Tunas, this is a real contribution insupport "The government in this case provides innovation and improvisation in activities that lead to efficiency," explained Sutiaji.

In this cooperation agreement, the number one person in the Malang City Government gave several notes related to the construction of PJU-TS. Among them is the importance of maximum service provided related to the PJU-TS that will be installed later.

"Don't let there be reports from the public about lights going out and so on, or even anticipate so that there is no need for a blackout unless there is a disaster. In addition, the quality of the light needs to be maintained, don't let it decrease compared to lights that use electricity," he said. (iu/yon)
